Do you have experience making asthma care a reality? Would you like to learn from other community programs with proven asthma strategies that have overcome various obstacles? The Communities in Action for Asthma-Friendly Environments Mentor Program takes networking to another level, formalizing a process that encourages community programs to learn from others’ experiences, to ensure comprehensive program development and improved asthma care.

What is a mentor?

Within the Communities in Action for Asthma-Friendly Environments Network, a mentor is a registered participant who voluntarily collaborates with other programs to provide guidance on community-based asthma management. These individuals have first hand knowledge and experience with community-based asthma programs and success with improving asthma care.

What are the benefits of becoming an asthma mentor?

By participating as a mentor, you serve as a model for strengthening community programs. By sharing your expertise, you will help other programs build and strengthen strategies to improve asthma care. Outstanding mentors will also be recognized through the soon-to-be-launched EPA National Mentorship Award Program.

How do I become a mentor?

Registered participants of the Network who are interested in sharing experiences, strategies, and best practices with community programs that are establishing or refining sustainable efforts to improve asthma care are encouraged to register for the mentor program.
