Minneapolis Community & Technical College’s 17-credit Community Health Worker (CMHW) certificate trains students to become a liaison between providers, clients and agencies. Students gain an understanding of how ethics influences client care and develop a critical thinking framework for solving health care problems. The program is offered during the fall semester or can be split across spring and summer semesters.

The North Central State College Community Health Worker Certificate is a three-unit certificate program focused in six major health areas: health care, community resources, communication skills, individual & community advocacy, health education, and skills and responsibilities. Students who complete this certificate program are eligible to be certified by the Ohio Board of Nursing as a Community Health Worker. The program is flexible and does not follow the normal college calendar.
