The mission of the WV-AEPP has been to develop and use evidence-based practices along with our partners utilizing a statewide strategic asthma plan to reduce the health and economic consequences of asthma in West Virginia.

The WV Asthma Education and Prevention Program (WVAEPP) wants to ensure that all of the state's asthma education and prevention organizations - from state government programs to non-profits - are working together to educate using the same message on -early asthma diagnosis,  treatment per national clinical guidelines, improved instruction on using and the need for medication, improved education on avoiding and recognizing asthma triggers, and improved quality of life for those affected by asthma.

WVAEPP is working to increase cooperation between asthma health-related organizations and programs throughout the state. By joining foces, our goal is to improve access to reliable information and resources while promoting education and improved adherence to the guidelines in the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI).
