Do you require any pre-qualifications or certifications for the contractors performing home interventions?  If so, which have been most effective for ensuring successul project implementation?

Yes.  We have a GHHI training program for our Intervention teams, we also require state certification for Integrated Pest management, DOE and  BPI Home performance certification, training on mold, mildew and moisture as well as releative certifications around compliance with Indoor Air Quality standards, plumbing, electrical and related Home Contractor certifications and the healthy homes rating System as administered by HUD - all personnel are also trained in asthma control and data collection.

Wow! that's a lot of trainings? What do DOE and  BPI mean?

And I'm sorry if you already said this, but are you training existing staff? Or hiring people who already have some of this training completed? Or a combination?

A combination - we have a pathway for increasing training - but out baseline GHHI training is the foundation.  We train all over the country - its a hands on training from Intake to Assessment and education to Scope and Intervention as well as post analysis.  BPI is building Performance and DOE is Dept . of energy.

One of your slides showed communities around the U.S. that have expressed interest in GHHI. Are you able to provide me with the three in Washington State and the one that looked like it was in the Portland, OR area?

Thank you- jolsen@tpchd.org
