Module 5—Essentials of asthma counseling

In this video, we discuss how an asthma counselor can be integrated into the care team to improve the health of children with asthma, how to identify a qualified asthma counselor for your practice, the competencies and qualities of a good asthma counselor, and the value of comprehensive training in preparing an asthma counselor for work in the field. We also discuss the role of the asthma counselor in providing education in the clinic and in the home- a key component of the CHAMPS intervention.
