LifeGuard Games builds game apps to help kids manage asthma. Our first app is Wellapets, a pet game for iOS and Android, out now!

LifeGuard Games was founded by a medical student at Harvard, a Glamour Top 10 College Woman, a talented artist and an aspiring pediatrician turned software engineer. All four are deeply passionate about developing technology to help with the management of chronic conditions, like asthma. Specifically, we wanted to help patients and clinicians by developing educational games that can teach and motivate patients to manage their health.

The team's first app, Wellapets, is a virtual pet game in which kids ages 6-11 care for a lovable fire-breathing dragon who wants to blow fire but can't unless its asthma is well-controlled. We've worked with pediatricians in Boston to design Wellapets such that care for the pet teaches kids what they need to know if they or their their friends have asthma, including inhaler technique and timing, trigger avoidance and symptom recognition.

Feel free to get in touch regarding feedback or suggestions for the game! We respond promptly.
