GHHI Data Collection-Baltimore

Were the impresive outcomes reported from GHHI-Baltimore from a quality of life survey or from medical data? Are these the same outcomes that Milliman vetted for the SIB? Thanks for presentation.

GHHI's numbers are independently evaluated data from Medical Cost Data

How was the return on investment calculated? Wouldn't you need to have information about changes that occur in a control group to be able to say what the change due to the program was and the resulting savings was?

Return on Investment was done against comparison groups and then vetted by an independent actuarial firm.

So, the % reductions in hospitalizations, ED visits, etc were the % beyond reductions experienced by a control group? [We found, and have seen much supporting literature, that if you take a group of asthmatic children receiving treatment at a hospital during one year that the following year there is a natural decline in visits, without any intervention (regression to the mean).]

We accomodate fully for the regression to the mean as well as other factors as moving homes or changing insurers.  this is all in our independent actuarial analysis.

I had a question about families moving homes. Close to 80% of the families that we work with are renters, and we have very high rates of mobility in our county.  (in part because of large military installations, but also an extreme lack of affordable home ownership options)

Have you looked at whether the GHHI program interventions have resulted in families moving less frequently? Am I correct that your website will contain more detailed information on your analysis and methods used?
