Secondhand Smoke: Marijuana

Is this the same for marijuana smoke?

Yes, marijuana smoke behaves the same as cigarette.  However, it doesn't have nicotine.

Although absent nicotine I would suspect marijuana smoke is harmful to the airways and can trigger an asthma exacerbation, especially in babies and children. Long-term effects? Also "hangs around" in materials same as or similar to cigarette third hand smoke?

Thanks,

Lisa

Yes, the aerosols behave like cigatette smoke and the ways to decrease it are similar (e.g., ventiliation, smoking bans).

How do additional disinfectant chemicals affect asthma triggers in children?

Good question. That is discussed in the training slides (slide #60 & #61) https://www.epa.gov/sites/production/files/2020-06/home_characteristics_...   Make sure you look at the "Notes Pages" to read the script we wrote for those slides.
