Chicago CHW Local Network was created by a group of health educators and their organizations in 2003, and is committed to a society in which all residents, regardless of socioeconomic status, have access to reliable health care services and the information necessary to live healthy lives. The Network provides legislative information, webinar and conference information, as well as other resources.

Minnesota Community Health Worker Alliance

The Minnesota Community Health Worker Alliance works with partners to reduce health disparities, achieve better health at a lower cost, and foster healthier communities. The organization serves as a convener, catalyst and expert resource to integrate CHW strategies. Minnesota is the only state in the United States with a statewide competency-based CHW educational program based in accredited post-secondary schools. The 14-credit program is a blend of classroom and field-based learning for those who have at least a high school diploma or GED.

Indiana Community Health Workers Association

The Indiana Community Health Workers Association is integrated into the Indiana State Department of Health. The Association provides support and resources to all CHWs as a means of advancing care, reducing costs and improving community health—with the ultimate goal of developing a sustainable health care system with CHWs. Resources include: conferences and symposia, information on training and state-based certification programs, webinars and factsheets, and a collaborative Facebook page.

Massachusetts Association of Community Health Workers (MACHW)

Founded in March 2000, the Massachusetts Association of Community Health Workers (MACHW) enables CHWs to lead the movement to organize, define and strengthen the profession of community health work. As a professional organization, MACHW provides resources and workforce development to CHWs from all disciplines. This includes resources on training and educational opportunities; policy development at the state and local levels; and integration of CHWs into the health care, public health and human service workforce.
