This project was designed to provide environmental and asthma awareness education to elementary students attending NEISD schools where asthma prevalence rates are highest and education in environmental health is most needed.

The Health & Wellness Alliance for Children (the Alliance), is a collaborative initiative of community leaders to collectively improve the health and wellness outcomes of children in Dallas, Texas. The Alliance focuses on improving community health by influencing factors outside of hospital care, including the social determinants of health and preventative care. The Alliance uses a “collective impact” approach that facilitates the alignment of many players within the community to form a common agenda for change around children’s health. The initial focus has been on children’s asthma. While Children’s Health Sytem of Texas (formerly Children's Medical Center) has served as the catalyst for this effort, the Alliance is comprised of and led by a cross­-section of Dallas community stakeholders committed to children’s health.

Department of Healthy Homes provides hazard remediation, hazard testing and education to vulnerable populations that are subject to injury or an illness because of their home.

Boston Children's Hospital helps to improve the health and lives of Boston children with asthma through a comprehensive and community oriented program. The Community Asthma Initiative (CAI) provides case-management and home visits, offers education to caregivers and providers, distributes asthma control supplies, connects families to resources as well as increases access through advocacy.

We are a community health center seeking to improve our care for asthma patients.

The Jerome Alston Memorial Foundation is concerned about the health, welfare and educational development of youth. We provide scholarships to young men pursing education at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). We are also concerned about the asthma epidemic and are committed to bringing awareness to this cause.

Promotes continuum of health provider access with asthma advocate on-site while promoting clear communication with licensed clinicians. Conduct needs assessments by identifying medication adherence structure and barriers with medical literacy during doctor's visits. Educating parents on policies and practices that are available within compliance needs of asthmatics.

The Program will provide asthma management education for youth, families, and athletic personnel; scholarships; asthma control devices; and recreational facilities for youth, with a focus on youth in athletic settings.
