The Bronx RESPIRAR Coalition (BRAC) is a novel 5-year clinical service program that involves systems improvement, enhanced patient centered support in the community, and clinical decision support for providers proposed by the Lincoln asthma providers’ team that has received funding by the NYSDOH asthma coalition program. RESPIRAR, which means Breathe in Spanish, is also the acronym for Resources, Education, Self Management, Prevention, and Integration to Reduce Asthma Rates.

To educate children with asthma about the importance of detection and control, due to Reduce the frequency and severity of asthmatic episodes through increased decision-making skills, self management practices and appropriate use of asthma medication

Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 Non profit organization.  Its mission is committed to improving the quality of life of the residents along the US-Mexico Border by increasing accessibility to quality training and affordable healthcare.

Regional Center for Border Health, Inc. works in collaboration with the Yuma County Health Services District's Wellness Coalition as pasrt of the Asthma Camp program.

This camp has consistently been well attended by children who suffer from asthma and has been well staffed by volunteer professional and para-professional individuals from through out Yuma County and members from other parts of the state.

A team of volunteer medical professionals including respiratory therapists as well as other healthcare professionals unite towards this goal of teaching asthma management for children ages 8-11 as they help screen and recommend changes that will ultimately have a positive impact in their lives. During camp children learn about asthma self management through a group of health professionals services which include: doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and other health care professional.
