Our Asthma programs are designed to reach out to any child or adult living with asthma in the state of Oregon. Our goals are to decrease the burden of Asthma, decrease the number of smokers, increase number of organizations working toward clean air for our schools, homes, and communities. We train leaders for adult and childhood asthma, self-management education programs.

The American Lung Association is the leading organization working to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through Education, Advocacy and Research.

The goals of the American Lung Association in Alaska are to enhance asthma surveillance, promote asthma awareness, improve systems of asthma care, promote self-management, reduce exposure to environmental factors that trigger asthma, increase school support, and sustain partnership to address the burden of asthma in Alaska.

The Asthma Safe Kids Pilot Program was developed with the goal of providing in-home asthma education and environmental assessments that would help to reduce ER visits and Inpatient hospital stays. This program works in collaboration with a Medicaid funded health insurance company, nurse-managed health centers and primary care providers.
