Healthy Schools/Healthy Kids Clearinghouse of factsheets, guides and reports on children's environmental health and school facility conditions was created to serve parents in 1996.

Healthy Schools/Healthy Kids Clearinghouse of factsheets, guides and reports on children''s environmental health and school facility conditions was created to serve parents in 1996. In the last four years, more than half of US EPA''s school IAQ awardees have come from communities that tapped this service. The Clearinghouse has won two EPA awards, one from EPA-Region 1 and a first-ever US EPA Children''s Health Protection Award in 2005. Typical incoming queries include help with: poor IAQ, molds, green cleaning products, fumes and dusts from uncontolled renovations, Healthy+High Performance Design guidelines, and using federal disability access laws for environmentally senstitive students. Healthy Schools Network also fosters the development of local and state policy coalitions to improve school conditions and partners with US EPA to promote National Healthy Schools Day annually.
