The goals of the Asthma Control and Prevention program include increasing community awareness using public education; conducting asthma surveillance; developing policies which reduce the prevalence, severity, and limitations of asthma; and promoting and providing education for physicians and other health care professionals to diagnose and treat asthma more effectively.

Through both clinical care and community partnerships, Boston Medical Center (BMC) provides a full spectrum of accessible services to people with asthma within the Boston area, with particular emphasis on providing care for those who can not afford it.

Partners Asthma Center Community Asthma Program (CAP) is a broad community asthma awareness program of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital that conducts asthma education programs and trainings, provides collegial support and medical updates on asthma for physician and nurses at Brigham-affiliated Neighborhood Health Centers, and develops educational materials.

Best Practices in Childhood Asthma improves the quality of clinical asthma care for California children, resulting in improved health outcomes, quality of life, and reduction and/or elimination of health disparities.

The Central Ohio Asthma Coalition, the main coordinating agency for organizations and individuals in Columbus who are concerned about the alarming asthma epidemic, provides a neutral forum for asthma information exchange and collaboration on asthma projects to improve the quality of life of individuals affected by asthma.

Asthma Allies improves the quality of life for individuals affected by asthma by raising awareness; providing evidence-based education ; addressing disparity and access issues; and encouraging comprehensive asthma self-management through a team approach.
