The goal of the National Environmental Education Foundation’s (NEEF) Pediatric Asthma Initiative is to integrate the environmental management of asthma into pediatric health care.

The goal of the Pediatric Asthma Initiative is to integrate environmental management of asthma into pediatric health care. Under this Initiative Environmental Management of Pediatric Asthma: Guidelines for Health Care Providers was developed. These Guidelines are endorsed/supported by the American Academy of Pediatrics, Ambulatory Pediatric Association, American Association of Colleges of Nursing, Association of Faculties of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. NEEF works with health professional organizations, health plans, clinicians and medical and nursing faculty to integrate these guidelines into health professionals' education and clinical practice.

The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, Greater Kansas City Chapter, (AAFA-KC) is committed to enhancing and saving the lives of asthma and allergy sufferers through support, advocacy, education, research and access to treatment.

The Greater Kansas City Chapter supports the national organization through its various programs. We are dedicated to serving children and adults who suffer from asthma and severe allergic disorders. Our programs are designed to:

·         Promote understanding of the illnesses and how to control them.

·         Educate those who suffer from asthma and allergies as well as the Greater Kansas City Community.

·         Support improved quality of life through our direct support programs.

·         Support scientific research of asthma and allergic diseases.

·         Work with local physicians, nurses and other health care professional groups.

·         Support the national organization in its endeavors to help those with asthma and allergic disorders.

 

For over 25 years, we have dedicated ourselves to educating the public, providing support where needed and providing direct aid to the thousands of asthmatics, who are without resources.
