HCBT is a community asthma education program that takes place in under served communities in Chicago. Community Health Workers provide comprehensive in-home asthma education to children and their families over the course of a year.

Asthmania Academy helps children with asthma and the people who care for them. We are the second program in the nation and the first in the Southeast to receive ASME certification from the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC). Our goal is to work with patients, families and physicians to improve asthma control. Asthmania Academy's specialized staff includes certified asthma educators (AE-C), pediatric hospitalists and certified pulmonary function technologists (CPFT) who can assess asthma control, perform diagnostic studies and provide recommendations based on nationally-recognized asthma management guidelines.

The Respiratory Program educates the community into awareness of Asthma related events with prevention, intervention and some guidelines working closely with the American Lung Association, Minnesota Society for Respiratory Care and Asthma Coalition.

A private corporation which has a very public mission. Moreover, that mission has expanded in scale and scope over the last three decades. Incorporated in 1965, the agency came into being as part of a nationwide, federally-funded, community action movement whose focus was to intimately involve poor people in developing their own solutions to persistent poverty.

The New York State (NYS) Healthy Neighborhoods Program (HNP) seeks to reduce the burden of housing related illness, and asthma in particular, through a holistic healthy homes approach and strategic partnerships with clinical services. Five key features distinguish the program. The NYS HNP:

Asthma Improves with Management (AIM) is a pediatric asthma management education program for families in the Trenton area living with asthma. AIM is made possible through a grant from the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, Office of Minority and Multicultural Health.

Respiratory Health Association of Metropolitan Chicago (RHAMC) has been a local public health leader since 1906. Today, the association addresses asthma, COPD, lung cancer, tobacco control and air quality with a comprehensive approach involving research, education and advocacy activities. RHAMC is widely recognized as a leader in addressing asthma in our communities. Recognizing the severity of the asthma epidemic, RHAMC provides several programs and initiatives to educate people with asthma and those who care for them.

Our organization mission is to improve the lives of asthma sufferers through educational programs, community awareness campaigns (asthma walk) and financial assistance.

The Center for Managing Chronic Disease is investigating a uniform approach for prevention, recognition, and intervention of food related reactions. With the collaboration of the Center, Harvey L. Leo, MD is leading an intervention at eight local University of Michigan Daycare centers. These facilities are incorporating a systematic approach to educate parents, children, and staff of food allergies in hopes of improving parental and staff anxiety regarding food allergies and reduce the possibility of food reactions.
