The Outreach Worker Training Institute (OWTI) of the Central Massachusetts Area Health Education Center, Inc. (CM AHEC) is a career-focused, college supported educational pipeline for public health professionals known as Community Health Workers (CHWs) as well as the supervisors of CHWs in health and social services. The OWTI addresses the community’s need for CHWs’ professional preparedness by offering certificate courses tailored to public health workers who are CHWs employed in health and social service agencies. Greetings from the Central MA AHEC’s Outreach Worker Training Institute!

We start an on-line registration for a free 80-Hour training course for Community Health Workers (CHWs) in Worcester County. The project is funded by the Fairlawn Foundation.

The National Healthy Homes Training Center and Network provides training for public health and housing practitioners in the assessment and treatment of housing-related health hazards, with a focus on practical and cost-effective methods. Trainees also have the opportunity to become a “Healthy Homes Specialist.” Since its inception in 2005, the Training Center has trained more than 17,000 individuals and expanded from seven to more than 50 partners.
